Ratchet and clank trilogy ps3 ebay ps2#
Not gonna lie, this sounds like a problem with both the PS2 and the R&C disk itself. Sure enough, Orxon still didn't load during this, so cleaning the reader probably didn't help that much. I can't figure out why it's shaking though. During the game's start up and menu, the disk seemed to spin perfectly, but once i loaded my file, which puts me right into the loading screen heading to orxon, this disk began to shake very lightly, which seems to have been the cause of the grinding noise. Curious, i hooked the system up while still taken apart to see if i could observe what was going on inside during the loading screen. There wasn't anything stuck inside the system, but i did clean the disc reader while it was open.
I don't know if that's something you need to know, but I thought i'd add it anyway, just in case.ĮDIT: I know this post treats readers like they might not know ratchet and clank, but that's because i originally posted this on the PS2 subreddit a couple days ago, but got no replies so i copypasted it over here.ĮDIT 2: Following a suggestion i received in the comments opened up the system to check for foreign objects. Oh, and if it matters at all, I'm in england. I know they're pretty cheap these days, but with the whole lockdown thing happening, i'd prefer to not spend money that I don't need to spend. So, is there anyone who can help? Is this a disk problem or is my PS2 broken If so, is it something I can repair? Or is buying a new PS2 the only option.
But Orxon did the exact same thing as previous, it began loading, but continued to cycle through space travel scenes until freezing completely. I had a second 4 hour playthrough with no problem at all, every level loaded just fine, including Batalia which previously loaded slowly, as mentioned. I'll just replay up to this point again and see if it works better." So i started a brand new file, and just like that, the game worked fine. Not wanting to give up, and seeing as how much i enjoyed the game, I decided "Screw it. I checked the disk again after this, but the disk still seemed to look fine, as far as I can tell.
All the while still making quiet grinding noises. However, when I completed Batalia and attempted to move on to Planet Orxon, the game simply would not load the new planet, constantly showing repeated space travel scenes for about 5 to 10 minutes before just freezing completely. Eventually though, the planet did load and the game continued as normal. However, the loading screen for Planet Batalia took around 10-12 space travel screens while the PS2 made some mine grinding noises inside the console. Usually about three screens worth before you arrive. For those who don't know, when travelling to a new planet, the game disguises the loading screen with videos of the ship flying through space. After completing planet Umbris, my game took a super long time loading the next planet. I had a tone of fun, taking my time in every level and going for all the secret gold bolts and such, but about 4 hours into my game i hit a problem. So, I got this game and immediately got into my replay. I mention that because I'm still unsure of it's even a PS2 problem. When it arrived, the disk looked perfectly fine, and still does for that matter. Ok, so recently i got really nostalgic to replay the Ratchet and Clank original trilogy on PS2 and bought a copy off of eBay.
